Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between ™ and ®?
™ can be used as soon as your trademark application is filed. ® can be used only after the trademark is registered. Using ® before registration is not allowed.
How long does trademark registration take?
Filing is done in 1–2 days and you can start using ™ immediately. Full registration usually takes several months, depending on examination, objections and the 4-month opposition period.
What if my trademark gets an objection?
Objections are common. Our team drafts a detailed reply and, if a hearing is scheduled, guides you through it.
Is my trademark valid all over India?
Yes. A trademark registered in India is valid across the country for 10 years and can be renewed every 10 years indefinitely.
Can I register a trademark without a company?
Yes. Individuals and proprietors can register a trademark in their own name, at the lower government fee.
